The VIENNA PROJECT at Harvard University is a multi-dimensional scholarly and artistic endeavor that synthesizes biography with theoretic and historical explorations into the interiority of psyche and city. Through lectures and visual media, the project re-imagines fin-de-siècle Vienna through the lens of the [Vienna Interior](/vienna-interior), Freud's [Dream of the Burning Child](/burning-child), and the [Family Portrait](/family-portrait). Inspired by the life and art work of Henry Koerner (1915-1991), a Viennese painter who fled his home town at the wake of the *Anschluss* in 1938, these elements all point to the hidden core of this project: [the uncanniness of home](/documents).
